This sixth variant in Novaminis' Mind Flayer range presents an illithid in the unmistakable pose of a creature who needs no weapon — its hands are raised, fingers splayed wide, the gesture of a mind being peeled open from the inside. The sculpt leans into the arcane authority of the elder brain's most devoted agents: elaborately embroidered robes fall to the floor with flowing weight, split by a heavy ornamental belt buckled with a skull motif and hung with a thick chain. Bone-like spurs crown the figure's collar, framing the iconic four-tentacled face mid-expression, while a second chain trails from the left side — a detail that reads equally well as trophied restraint or ritual adornment.

Where many Mind Flayer sculpts emphasise combat aggression, this variant captures the psychic intellect at the heart of the illithid's terror. The robes' surface is alive with fine relief carving — interlocking patterns and filigree that reward a careful painter, and that photograph brilliantly on a display shelf. This is the variation to reach for when your encounter calls for the Elder Brain's emissary, the colony's high functionary, or a psionic arcanist who hasn't needed to lift a finger in centuries.
