This is the third variation in Novaminis' Mind Flayer range — and where the first two may speak to brute menace or stalking predation, this sculpt captures something altogether more unsettling: calm, deliberate authority. The illithid stands tall in layered ceremonial robes, one arm extending forward with a single pointing finger — not threatening, exactly, but commanding. Absolutely commanding.

The detail across this miniature rewards careful painters. The robes are etched with arcane patterns and trail a thick braided chain at the hip. Studded pauldrons frame the shoulders, and the forearms are wrapped in heavy bracers. The tentacled face is set in an expression of total composure — four facial tendrils hanging loose, bony cranial spines fanning out behind the head. The reaching hand is open-clawed, fingers spread wide, as though mid-incantation or moments away from a Mind Blast.

Unlike the more martial stances you might expect from aberrant villains, this variant leans into the arcanist-scholar interpretation of the Mind Flayer — the manipulator behind the throne, the elder brain's most trusted envoy, the creature that your party has been warned about since session one.
