The mimic is one of D&D's most beloved deceptions — a creature whose entire existence is a trap wrapped in mundane packaging. This particular variant takes that premise and runs with it gloriously: a stout, elegantly fluted ceramic urn, complete with a fitted lid and classical handles, concealing something far more toothy beneath. The sculpt by Novaminis captures the moment of reveal with visceral clarity — the lid flung wide, the vessel's body warping and splitting as a gaping maw erupts from within, rows of jagged teeth and a thick, curling tongue lunging outward at whatever poor soul came to investigate.

This is variation 01 in Novaminis' mimic urn line, and it's a cracker of a starting point. The urn form is convincingly ornate — the kind of thing a player character absolutely would stop to examine.
