Description

The lamplighter's guild never did solve the mystery of why three street cleaners vanished on Cobbler's Row — but the lamppost at the corner still flickers invitingly, even on windless nights.

  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

Mimics are ambush predators of legendary patience — and this one has committed fully to the bit. The Mimic Lamppost 01 by Novaminis is a candelabra-style street lamp sculpted in two distinct states: the Hidden form, which presents as an entirely convincing multi-arm ironwork lamppost, and the Revealed form, which has dropped the disguise entirely — the lower post swells into a mass of mottled, leathery flesh, a wide maw crammed with hooked teeth splitting the body open beneath the lamp arms. The lamp crowns themselves are faithfully detailed across both forms, with spiked finials, banded lantern housings, and gracefully curving arms that look entirely at home on a cobblestone street — right up until they don't.

The sculpt carries Novaminis' characteristic wit: the Revealed form is genuinely unsettling without tipping into absurdity, and the Hidden form is convincing enough that your players may not immediately clock what they're looking at. That ambiguity is the whole point. Place one of these in the centre of your city map and watch the table start second-guessing every piece of furniture in the room.

Both the Hidden and Revealed sculpts are available individually, or as a combined Both option — the complete pair in a single order for those who want the full before-and-after reveal at the table.

  • Adventurers running urban intrigue campaigns where nothing is quite what it seems
  • Dungeon Masters who enjoy watching players debate whether to touch the lamppost
  • Scatter terrain collectors building out lived-in city streets with a hidden edge
  • Painters who want a characterful centrepiece that rewards close inspection

Encounter Hook: The party has been hired to investigate a series of disappearances in the merchant district of Varenthal. Local guards insist nothing is amiss — the streets are well-lit, the lampposts freshly maintained. It is only when the rogue reaches out to steady herself against the post at the corner of Silk Lane that the thing lurches, and the warm amber glow above her shifts into something that is absolutely, undeniably hungry.
