Mimics are among the most beloved and deeply treacherous monsters in tabletop RPG history — and this sculpt from Novaminis captures exactly why. The Mimic High Back Chair 01 presents the creature in two distinct states: a convincingly mundane high-backed wooden chair, complete with carved grain texture, iron rivets, and sturdy joinery; and the same chair mid-reveal, its back splitting open to expose a cavernous maw full of jagged, uneven fangs, beady eyes glaring from the top rail, and a grotesque mass of warped organic flesh where the seat and legs used to be.

The woodgrain detailing on the dormant state is genuinely impressive — enough texture to paint convincingly as oak or walnut, with joinery that reads as believably crafted furniture. The revealed state is the opposite of restrained: the creature's face dominates the upper half with an expression of gleeful, savage hunger, tongue lolling forward between rows of teeth, the lower body still partially disguised as chair legs even as the whole thing lurches with predatory intent.
