Description

The party's rogue reaches for the bubbling cauldron in the corner of the alchemist's lab — and the cauldron reaches back.

  • ✔ Multi-miniature bundle — multiple variations in one order
  • ✔ 32mm scale resin, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ All pieces supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Great value for building out encounter groups or display collections

Mimics are among the most beloved — and most feared — monsters in tabletop RPG history, and Novaminis have turned their charm on one of the dungeon's most innocuous objects: the humble cooking pot. This Mimic Big Pot bundle includes both the hidden state (a perfectly ordinary-looking iron cauldron, lid on, three-legged, with looped handles — utterly unremarkable) and the revealed state (that same cauldron now gaping wide open, its lid flung back to expose rows of vicious fangs, a thick grasping tongue, and the warty, textured hide of a creature that has been biding its time).

The sculpt detail on the revealed form is where Novaminis truly shine. The jaw is wide and aggressive, teeth jagged and irregular, with the upper jaw curling back in a grotesque snarl. The body retains just enough of the pot's silhouette — the ring handles, the stubby legs — to make the reveal genuinely unsettling. Paint the hidden version with a convincing iron finish and let your players second-guess every piece of scenery in the room.

Both versions work brilliantly as gaming pieces to mark the mimic's state mid-encounter, and together they make a characterful display pair on any shelf. Whether you're springing this on unsuspecting adventurers or adding a charismatic monster to your painted collection, this sculpt delivers on both counts.

Suits adventurers who:

  • Love springing monster reveals on their unsuspecting players
  • Want both a hidden and a revealed state for their mimic encounters
  • Are building out a dungeon scatter and creature collection simultaneously
  • Paint character and humour into their display miniatures

Encounter Hook: The party has been hired to investigate a missing alchemist. His laboratory is intact — potions still on the shelves, notes on the desk — but three of the large iron cauldrons along the back wall have shifted position since the apprentice last visited. Only three remain. As the paladin steps closer to check for signs of a struggle, one of the cauldrons tips slightly on its legs. Just slightly.
