There are mimics that lurk in chests, and mimics that lurk in doorways — but few ambush predators are quite as deviously mundane as one that has chosen to disguise itself as a claw-footed bathtub. This sculpt from Novaminis captures the creature in two states: at rest and in mid-reveal. The hidden form is a convincingly ordinary-looking tub, all elegant curved porcelain and dainty feet. The revealed form is a gaping horror — wide maw stretched open, rows of jagged teeth lining both jaws, a thick muscular tongue curling within, and the same innocent little clawed feet now betraying something altogether less relaxing beneath.

The detail on the revealed sculpt is particularly satisfying to paint. The wet-leather texture of the creature's skin contrasts beautifully with the smooth enamel finish of the tub's exterior, and those teeth — staggered, overlapping, predatory — offer a genuinely menacing focal point. Whether you base-coat the interior a glistening red or leave it in cold bone white, this mini rewards careful painters and looks equally good on the gaming table or in a display cabinet.
