This is Mimic 05, and it's unlike any mimic your players have faced before. Where other mimics lurk inside chests and wardrobes, this variant has shed all pretence of furniture entirely — its scorpion-like tail curves menacingly overhead, its mass of hooked claws fans outward like a grotesque bloom, and its tentacled lower body spills across the floor in all directions. The sculpt captures a creature mid-ambush: coiled, aggressive, and deeply unsettling. The segmented carapace on the tail and the layered musculature of the claw-cluster give painters a wealth of texture to work with, from chitin highlights to deep recesses in the tentacle mass.
Whether you're running an Underdark delve, a forgotten ruin, or a dungeon that long ago stopped making sense to its creators, this mimic variant adds a genuine sense of dread. It works just as well as a display piece — the dynamic, radially aggressive pose reads brilliantly from any angle on a shelf or diorama base. Encounter Hook:

Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. Available with or without a plain black base — the base ships unattached and can be fixed in place with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin miniatures, minor surface marks are possible and easily tidied up before priming. Pairs brilliantly with the Scatter Chest item in our store.
