This is the second sculpt in our Mimic range, and where Mimic 01 plays it coy, Mimic 02 commits to the reveal. The creature is mid-lunge, its grotesque body erupting from a studded wooden treasure chest — lid flung wide, wickedly curved claws splayed, and its bulk spilling over the chest's rim in a torrent of writhing flesh. There is nothing subtle about this one. It is the moment after the party's rogue said "I'll just check inside."

The sculpt captures a satisfying sense of wrongness: the chest is entirely convincing from a distance, full of period-accurate ironwork, a hinged lid, and corner studs — and then the horror begins. The organic mass billowing out of it is a brilliant contrast in texture, all taut sinew and grasping talons. At approximately 15mm tall (scaled to 32mm), it reads as a Large creature and works brilliantly as a scatter prop or an active encounter piece on any dungeon tile.

The room at the end of the corridor holds three chests. The party spent twenty minutes debating which one was the mimic. They were all wrong — it was the chest they used as a step-stool to reach the high shelf.

What's included: One Mimic 02 miniature, scaled to 32mm (approximately 15mm tall as sculpted). Available with or without a plain black base — the base is supplied unattached and can be secured with a small amount of glue. This miniature arrives support-free and fully cured, ready for priming and painting or for use straight from the box. Minor surface marks from the printing process are possible; these are easily tidied up before painting.
