This is pose 1 of the Merrow Chief range by Novaminis, and it makes an immediate impression. The sculpt captures a hulking aquatic warlord mid-rise — a coiling serpentine lower body lifting the torso into a commanding stance, tentacle-like tendrils cascading from the head like a crown of deep-water menace. In one hand, a barbed spear reaches forward with predatory intent; in the other, a brutal chained axe hangs ready — the kind of weapon that ends debates quickly. The hide is encrusted with barnacle-like growths, ridged scales, and jutting spines, every surface telling a story of survival in dark and violent waters. This is not a minion. This is the thing the minions answer to.

Encounter Hook:
The party was hired to recover a merchant's sunken cargo from the estuary — a straightforward salvage job, they were told. Three dives in, they find the wreck torn open from below, the cargo untouched, and a set of enormous claw marks carved into the hull. Then the water around them goes very still, and something large begins to rise.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. Available with or without a plain black base — the base comes unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all high-detail resin work, minor marks may occasionally be present and are straightforward to tidy up. Fully cured and ready to prime.
