Description

Something vast and wrong rose from the black water — a merrow wreathed in skulls and dripping chain, its spear already levelled at the nearest throat.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This is pose 1 of our Merrow Brute range, sculpted by Novaminis. Where the Monster Manual's merrow is already unsettling, this interpretation turns it into something truly dread-inspiring. The upper body is a mass of writhing tendrils, embedded skulls, and rusted chains that loop overhead like a grotesque halo — each detail speaking to a creature that adorns itself with the trophies of the drowned. In one clawed hand it grips a barbed bone spear; the other wields a spiked axe-like weapon dripping with aquatic menace. The lower fish-tail coils beneath it, webbed fins flared, ready to surge forward. This is not a random encounter — this is a boss.

Whether you're running a coastal campaign, an Underdark waterway, or a sunken temple arc, this miniature gives your table a focal point that commands the room. Equally at home on a gaming mat or a display shelf, it rewards a skilled painter's attention — the layered textures across the torso, chains, and tail offer real depth for washes and highlights alike.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Need a physically imposing aquatic boss for their D&D 5e or other TTRPG campaign
  • Are building a merrow warband or a sea-horror encounter from the ground up
  • Want a characterful display piece that goes well beyond a standard water creature
  • Enjoy painting large-scale monster miniatures with complex layered detail

Encounter Hook:
The fishing village's missing boats were one thing. The missing fishermen were another. But it's the neat row of skulls found lashed to the pier — still wearing their oilskin hats — that tells the party exactly what kind of creature has claimed this stretch of coast as its territory.

Scaled to 32mm. A plain black base is available and comes unattached — a small amount of glue is all that's needed to fix it in place. The miniature is supplied ready for priming and painting, or can be used straight from the box. We quality-check every piece before it leaves us, though minor marks from the printing process are possible and can be tidied up easily.
