Description

She was hauled in with the morning catch — half-submerged in a salt barrel, watching the harbour crowd with eyes that have seen the deep trenches, and remembered.

  • ✔ Display-scale miniature — larger than standard 32mm gaming scale
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Equally suited to display shelves and the gaming table

This remarkable scene diorama from Great Grimoire depicts a merfolk woman held captive in a coastal fishmonger's stall, her scaled tail draped over the edge of a wooden barrel as she leans forward with a pointed, unsettling calm. The scene is rich with narrative detail: a butcher's block and cleaver to one side, a second merfolk figure trussed in a hanging net behind her, a cobbled stone base scattered with fish and rope, and a wooden post rigged with tackle. Every element tells a story before your players have rolled a single die.

This is not a single character miniature — it is a fully realised encounter centrepiece, equally at home on a TTRPG table or a display shelf. The second image shows an alternate seated merfolk sculpt resting in a large clamshell basin, pointing with quiet authority — a companion piece in the same range with its own presence and narrative weight. The third image shows the hanging-net prop as a standalone piece, bristling with texture and grim implication.

Crafted for adventurers who:

  • Want a show-stopping set piece for a coastal city, fish market, or black market encounter
  • Are running campaigns that touch on merfolk, aboleth cults, sea hags, or ocean-faring factions
  • Collect display-quality dioramas from independent fantasy sculptors
  • Need a memorable quest-giver, captive NPC, or moral dilemma brought to life at the table

Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the Saltmaw docks to find the morning market in a frenzy — a live merfolk, still half-alive, is on display in a fishmonger's barrel. A nervous merchant offers to sell her for a steep price. A hooded figure at the back of the crowd is already bidding. And the merfolk herself keeps her gaze fixed on one specific member of your party — as though she already knows something about them that they don't.

Details

What's included: This scene is printed at 35mm scale (if you'd prefer 32mm scaling, send us a message and we'll adjust). Base options are available — if you select the decorative base, please include a note with your preferred style. The base is supplied separately for easy attachment with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor marks may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up ahead of priming and painting.
