Mia Kay's Mermaid is no wide-eyed sea sprite. With pointed ears swept back beneath flowing hair, a scaled tail curling onto a scatter of shells and sea-smoothed stone, and an expression that sits somewhere between curiosity and contempt, she reads immediately as a creature of ancient coastal myth. She belongs to waters that have names in old charts and warnings in older songs — the kind of NPC a Dungeon Master introduces once and the party never quite forgets.
The sculpt carries real character in the details: layered shell-form armour across the chest, individual scales on the tail, and a scenic base complete with conch shells, a starfish, and damp sand. She works equally well as a capricious sea fey, a cursed noble from a drowned kingdom, or a genuine maritime threat lurking beneath a coastal campaign's surface. She also makes a genuinely striking display piece for collectors who love finely worked aquatic sculpts.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run coastal, island, or underwater D&D and TTRPG campaigns
- Need an evocative sea fey NPC or merfolk encounter piece
- Want a display miniature that rewards close inspection
- Are building out a painted collection of fantasy aquatic creatures
Encounter Hook:
The party has been hired to recover a merchant's sunken cargo from a reef two miles offshore. They find the wreck easily enough — but someone has already sorted through it, arranging the salvage in neat rows on the seabed as if cataloguing it. Then the current shifts, and they realise they are not alone down here.
