Mephits are among the most cantankerous creatures the elemental planes have to offer — minor in power, major in personality. This sculpt captures one in a ground-level crouch, wings spread wide and asymmetrically, with one stretching to a sharp dagger-like point and the other fanning out in a more batlike sweep. The body is lean and muscular, the head crowned with swept-back horns, and the open mouth full of small, needle-like teeth. Everything about the pose reads as coiled energy — this is a creature half a second away from launching itself at something it almost certainly cannot beat, and knowing it, and not caring.
