This is pose 3 of our Melee Skeleton range from Galaad Miniatures, and it's one of the most characterful of the set. The skeleton strides forward mid-combat, clutching a broad sword in its right hand whilst raising a battered round shield overhead — two broken arrows still lodged in its face — a grim testament to just how many times this guardian has refused to stay dead. Tattered cloth hangs from its waist over exposed skeletal legs, and its hollow-eyed skull is locked in that familiar, silent war-grin that only the truly undead can manage.

Whether you're populating a lich's tomb, reinforcing a necromancer's honour guard, or building out a Ravenloft encounter with some genuine menace, this warrior skeleton brings both tactical presence and narrative weight to the table. It works equally well as a rank-and-file undead soldier or as a named guardian — the kind that still carries the memory of the soldier it once was. An excellent painting subject too, with deeply recessed cloth folds, distinct skeletal anatomy, and a shield face that rewards a wash and drybrush.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Need undead warriors for crypt, tomb, or dungeon encounters in D&D 5e or other TTRPGs
  • Are building a necromancer's army and want varied, characterful skeletal foot soldiers
  • Enjoy painting fantasy undead with strong surface detail and expressive poses
  • Want a display piece that captures the grim resilience of a skeleton that simply will not fall

Encounter Hook:
As the party forces the vault door open, they find the chamber beyond already occupied — a single skeleton standing motionless at the centre of the room, two arrows jutting from its shield, facing the entrance as though it has been waiting. It doesn't move. It doesn't need to. It simply raises its sword.

Details

Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and base are separate pieces, easily attached with a small amount of super glue — and the decorative cobblestone base is worth keeping, as the model's stance is sculpted to interact with it. Arrives ready for priming and painting, or use it straight from the box for your next session.
