Description

She does not need to strike — the slow, deliberate tilt of her head and the coil of serpents at her crown are enough to turn the bravest hero's resolve to stone.

  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

This Medusa sculpt takes a quietly menacing approach to one of D&D's most iconic monstrosities. Rather than a snarling monster mid-lunge, this version is poised and deliberate — her weight shifted to one hip, one hand raised thoughtfully to her chin, the other resting at her side. She wears a flowing Greco-classical robe cinched at the waist with a coin-disc belt, and her feet are laced into strapped sandals. The sculpt's restraint is its greatest strength: a creature this dangerous has no need to bare her teeth.

Her serpentine hair rises from her head in two curved horns rather than a full writhing mass, giving her a regal, almost goddess-like silhouette. A jewelled bracelet decorates one wrist — a small detail that speaks to vanity, power, and a life before the curse. The expression on her face is calm and calculating, the look of someone who has watched many would-be heroes approach and who already knows how this ends.

Tied to Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk, this sculpt captures the specific flavour of that campaign's Medusa encounter — a figure of ancient power drawn into the machinations of something far darker. She makes an outstanding encounter centrepiece, and her composed pose translates beautifully to a painted display piece.

Particularly well suited for adventurers who:

  • Are running Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk and want a dedicated miniature for its Medusa encounter
  • Favour narrative-led monsters with presence and story rather than raw aggression
  • Enjoy painting classically draped robes, skin tones, and jewellery details
  • Want a Medusa that works equally well as a villain NPC or a cursed antihero
  • Are building a Greek mythology-inspired encounter for their campaign

Encounter Hook: The party arrives at the ruined villa expecting a straightforward retrieval — the merchant's lost heirloom is somewhere in the overgrown courtyard. What they find instead is a woman standing perfectly still among a garden of stone figures, her back to them, fingers raised to her chin as if deep in thought. She speaks without turning. "I counted six of you when you entered the grounds. I count five now." She is not wrong. She was not threatening. She was simply informing them of the facts.
