Description
The shepherds stopped talking about missing livestock weeks ago — now entire caravans vanish between dusk and dawn, and something enormous has been seen circling the ridge at twilight.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
The manticore is one of D&D's most recognisable terrors, and this sculpt by Novaminis captures exactly why. Pose 01 shows the beast mid-rearing — lion's haunches driving powerful hind legs into the ground, forepaws lifted and claws spread wide, enormous leathery wings thrown back and fully extended. The spiked mane bristles around a deeply unsettling humanoid face, mouth open and teeth bared. The spike-tipped tail curls up and inward behind the body, every inch of the pose radiating aggression and momentum. From the tattered edges of the wing membranes to the dense muscle texture across the lion's body, the detail throughout rewards close inspection whether you're placing it on the battlemat or on a display shelf.
This is a Large-category creature in D&D 5e and works equally well as a wandering wilderness threat, a warlord's trained beast, or a climactic boss encounter in its own right. DMs running desert, mountain, or frontier campaigns will find this sculpt earns its place on the table the moment it hits the mat.
Well suited for adventurers who:
- Need a Large monstrosity mini that actually looks dangerous on the battlemat
- Are building encounter sets for wilderness, mountain, or frontier campaigns
- Want a characterful centrepiece for a boss fight or ambush encounter
- Paint and collect fantasy creature miniatures for display
Encounter Hook:
The party is three days from the nearest settlement when they find the wreckage of a merchant wagon — no bodies, no cargo, just deep claw gouges in the wood and a handful of iron spikes embedded in the treeline. Something has been hunting this road for weeks, and it has learned to recognise the sound of wagon wheels.
