This mammoth is not standing still. Mounted on a huge 76.5mm base, this sculpt captures the creature mid-charge — trunk raised and bellowing, massive curved tusks sweeping forward, front legs planted and rear legs driving with colossal power. Every inch of the body is covered in thick, layered shaggy fur, rendered in extraordinary detail: loose tufts along the back, dense matted clumps on the shoulders and flanks, and a heavy mane of longer fur cascading over the head and neck. Bony ridge spines break through along the back, hinting at something older and more dangerous than a simple natural beast.
The attacking pose is the real story here. The trunk is raised high and curled back in full-throated fury, the head is lowered for impact, and the sheer mass of the creature is communicated through the sculpt's silhouette alone. Whether this is a wild mammoth protecting its herd, a war-beast unleashed by frost giant handlers, or the terrifying mount of an arctic warlord, the pose leaves no doubt that something is about to get trampled.
The sculpt sits on a large oval base with clean flat edges, giving painters ample room to add tundra groundwork — snow, cracked ice, or frozen earth to match whatever frozen wilderness your campaign inhabits.
Well suited to adventurers who:
- Run arctic or wilderness campaigns set in frozen wastelands and frost-blasted plains
- Need a genuinely imposing beast encounter that fills the table with presence
- Want a centrepiece creature that rewards careful, layered painting of fur and ivory
- Are building out a frost giant warband or prehistoric bestiary for their collection
- Collect high-detail creature sculpts for display as well as play
Encounter Hook: The rangers warned the party about the mammoth migration, but nobody expected the herd to be stampeding — driven into a frenzy by the frost giant shaman riding the lead bull, horn raised and tusks lowered, headed straight for the village the adventurers swore to protect. They have two rounds to find high ground or a way to redirect the charge before the first houses are reduced to splinters.
