Ilvos Drak'thin is a male drow sorcerer who has bent lunar magic to his own inscrutable will, channelling it not as pale silver light but as something rawer and far more dangerous. His sculpt captures that power in full: arms outstretched, fingers splayed, twin crescents rising from his spiked pauldrons like the horns of some otherworldly herald. A flowing cape fans out behind him while ribbons of crimson arcane energy coil up from the base and wrap around his body — a visual that practically demands OSL painting in deep red and purple. The detail on his layered chest armour, bracers, and scale-textured boots gives painters genuine texture to work with at every level.
This is a character built for moral complexity. A drow who draws power from the moon — a body associated with the surface, with elves, with things the Underdark traditionally rejects — carries inherent tension. Whether he's a renegade scholar, a manipulative patron offering forbidden knowledge, or a fallen ally whose ambitions have grown too large, Ilvos brings narrative weight to any campaign. Equally suited to the gaming table and a display shelf, he's a centrepiece miniature in every sense.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Want a drow sorcerer PC with a genuinely distinctive silhouette
- Need a charismatic, dangerous Underdark NPC or recurring villain
- Are running campaigns involving lunar magic, drow politics, or arcane intrigue
- Enjoy display painting with dramatic OSL or freehand potential
Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking a series of ritual sites where the moon's light has been systematically drained — leaving behind only scorched stone and the faint scent of ozone. In the final chamber beneath the ruined temple, they find Ilvos Drak'thin at the centre of a spiralling crimson vortex, arms raised, eyes closed, utterly unconcerned by their arrival. He speaks first: "I wondered when someone would come. Sit. We have much to discuss before the next moon rises."
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The model and base are separate pieces — attach with super glue. This sculpt interacts closely with its decorative base, and the two work best displayed together. The base features a rubble-strewn ground with the energy vortex rising up around the figure. Supplied unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brush.
