This Mail Bird is one of those sculpts that stops people mid-session. Perched atop an ornate steampunk-style mailbox mounted on a gear-and-pipe post, this armoured avian construct is equal parts whimsical and wonderfully detailed. The bird wears a fitted helmet and carries a letter tucked beneath its wing, while the base teems with cogs, bolts, and mechanical clutter — the kind of scatter detail that makes collectors and painters reach for their finest brushes.
Whether you're dropping it into an artificer's workshop, a gnomish postal district, or the ruins of a forgotten clockwork city, this construct NPC brings immediate character to any scene. The sculpt is by Mia Kay, whose talent for blending charm with crisp mechanical detail makes this a real standout for gaming tables and display shelves alike.
For adventurers who:
- Want a distinctive construct NPC or curiosity for their TTRPG campaign
- Are building steampunk, artificer, or clockwork-themed encounters
- Love characterful pieces that reward close-up painting
- Collect display miniatures with personality and narrative weight
Encounter Hook:
The party discovers the Mail Bird perched silently on a ruined post in the middle of a long-abandoned gnomish quarter. It holds a sealed letter addressed to someone who died forty years ago — and when the rogue reaches for it, the bird's eyes flicker to life with a dim amber glow.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The model with the detailed base comes as a single piece, fully attached. The model with a plain base comes with the base separate and can be affixed with a small amount of glue. Supplied unpainted and ready for priming — some minor marks from the printing process may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up before painting.
