Magical Pangolin by Mia Kay M3DM
Description
Somewhere between the mortal world and the Feywild, a creature of overlapping scales and quiet magic sits in the sand — patient, watchful, and wearing a crown of woven vines as though it was always meant to.

The Magical Pangolin is one of those creatures that defies easy classification. It is not a monster in the traditional sense — it carries no weapon and bears no snarl — but there is something unmistakably knowing in its expression, something fey and ancient in the way it holds itself. Its layered scales are rendered in extraordinary detail, each one distinct and overlapping with the precision of carved stone, while its broad feathered wings — half-raised, half-folded — suggest a creature that chooses when to be seen. The delicate vine crown sitting between its long ears marks it as something accorded respect, perhaps even reverence, by the creatures of the wild places.
This sculpt by Mia Kay M3DM is equally at home as a Feywild denizen, a druid's familiar, an enigmatic NPC, or a centrepiece on a display shelf. The textured sandy base grounds the piece without stealing attention from the creature itself. Two distinct scale references are visible in the product photography — a printed mini beside a D20 — and the level of sculpted detail holds beautifully at 32mm.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run Feywild campaigns and want characterful, non-threatening creatures with presence
- Need a memorable NPC — a spirit guide, a fey courier, or an ancient magical ward
- Are building a druid's or ranger's companion collection
- Love unusual fantasy creatures with genuine painterly potential
- Collect display miniatures from independent sculptors
Encounter Hook:
The village elder says the old pangolin at the edge of the Greywood has not moved in three days — it simply sits, wings half-spread, staring toward the ruined chapel. Anyone who approaches hears nothing but the faint sound of breathing that isn't theirs. The druid insists it is waiting. Waiting for what, she cannot say.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The mini comes attached to its integrated textured sandy base as a single piece. Ready for priming and painting straight away, or display as-is in the raw state — both work beautifully for this sculpt. We inspect every piece before it leaves us, though minor marks from the printing process are possible and easily tidied up before painting.
