This ornate magic shop shelving unit is one of those terrain pieces that does half the Dungeon Master's work for them. The arched frame is carved with decorative flourishes and a central motif that hints at something older than the shop itself. Four tiered shelves are crammed with detail: buckled travelling cases and stacked books on the upper shelves; rows of small ceramic pots arranged on a wooden rack; a collection of large round-bottomed flasks and domed vessels on tripod stands; and on the lowest shelf, a human skull, a potted plant with twisting stems, a scroll, and a cluster of ornate stoppered bottles. It is, in short, exactly what a proper apothecary or arcane merchant's display should look like.
Whether you're staging the inside of Madam Xanatova's infamous potion emporium, dressing the back room of a thieves' guild fence, or building a wizard's private study, this piece earns its place on the table. It works equally well as a display-worthy collector's piece — the depth of sculpted detail rewards both a careful paint job and a confident ink wash.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Are building an immersive magic shop, apothecary, or arcane bazaar scene
- Need scatter terrain that doubles as a visual story prompt at the table
- Enjoy painting detailed props and want something that rewards every highlight
- Collect fantasy terrain for display alongside their miniatures
Encounter Hook:
The party has been sent to retrieve a specific vial from the back shelves of a shuttered apothecary — but when they arrive, they find three of them that match the description, the shopkeeper's skull grinning up from the floor below, and a fresh set of footprints in the dust that leads to a locked door.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The piece arrives ready for priming and painting, or use as-is straight from the box. Some minor marks from the print process are possible; these are easily tidied up before painting. Supports are removed prior to dispatch.
