The Christmas Present Mimic is one of the cruellest tricks a Dungeon Master can deploy during a festive encounter. Disguised as a cheerfully ribbon-tied gift box, this creature sits perfectly innocent on a dungeon shelf or beneath a holiday tree — right up until those rows of jagged fangs swing open and the claws reach out. The sculpt captures the mimic mid-reveal, the gift-box lid thrown back to expose a gaping maw bristling with teeth, a curling tongue, and grasping talons bursting from what was, moments ago, a completely harmless parcel.
This is a brilliant piece of scatter terrain that doubles as an ambush encounter — use it as dungeon dressing during a Winterfest or Yuletide-themed adventure, or drop it into any treasure room for that moment of beautiful, horrible surprise. It's equally at home on a display shelf as a piece of characterful miniature art, and a real joy to paint — the contrast between the innocent bow on the lid and the horror beneath practically begs for a deliberate colour scheme.

Encounter Hook:
The party has been invited to the Frost Merchant's winter gala — a labyrinthine manor stacked floor to ceiling with wrapped gifts for his many clients. When the rogue slips away to investigate the locked back room, she finds dozens of identical present-shaped boxes lining the shelves. One of them has already eaten the previous investigator. The others are watching her decide which one to open first.
Scaled to 32mm. The mimic (open form) and the closed gift-box decoy are both included, giving you two display or encounter options. The open mimic is a single piece attached to its base; the closed box version can be used as scatter terrain or a reveal prop. Ready for priming and painting straight out of the box, or striking as-is in bare resin. Minor support marks may occasionally be present and are easily cleaned up.
