Description

It does not walk — it descends, wings spread wide, a hollow-eyed herald of inevitable death whose skeletal frame is barely contained within the shredded remnants of something that was once holy.

  • ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
  • ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
  • ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf

The Lurking Shadow is a genuinely unsettling sculpt: a towering undead reaper with two great feathered wings fully outstretched, a fleshless ribcage exposed beneath tattered robes, and one clawed hand raised as though mid-incantation. The hooded skull peers downward from above, hollow sockets radiating menace. This is a creature that carries the weight of corrupted divinity — a fallen celestial, a death knight's patron, or the physical manifestation of a necromantic ritual gone terribly, gloriously wrong. On the tabletop, it commands attention immediately.

The sculpt by Great Grimoire captures extraordinary motion — robes torn and trailing, wings each individually feathered with fine detail, and a pose that reads as both predatory and ceremonial. Whether you're running it as a boss encounter or placing it on a display shelf, this miniature earns its space. It arrives unpainted and ready for priming, making it a rewarding painting project for anyone who wants to push contrast and shading across bone, feather, and tattered cloth.

Suited to adventurers who:

  • Need a high-impact boss monster for a necromancy or fallen-angel story arc
  • Are building a Ravenloft, graveyard, or corrupted-cathedral encounter
  • Collect undead and fiend miniatures for display or campaign use
  • Want a centrepiece model that doubles as a painting challenge

Encounter Hook:
The players have pursued the Cult of the Ashen Veil for three sessions — only to arrive at the cathedral's inner sanctum and find the cult already dead, arranged in a perfect circle, hands folded. Above them, wings spread in silence, the Lurking Shadow turns its hollow gaze to the door. It has been waiting.

This miniature is printed at 35mm scale. If you'd prefer 32mm scaling, send us a message before ordering and we'll adjust it for you. A decorative base option is available — if selected, please include a note with your preferred base style from the three available options. The base arrives separate and attaches easily with a small amount of glue. Supports are removed before dispatch; minor marks from the printing process can occur and are easily cleaned up.
