This is the Lost Crusader, a skeletal undead warrior who died in service of a long-forgotten holy war and never received the memo to stop fighting. Clad in tattered chainmail that still clings to exposed ribs and bony limbs, this grim figure strides forward with a crossbow levelled and a sword slung across the back — a soldier who has traded mortality for relentlessness. The sculpt captures that unsettling quality unique to well-armoured skeletons: the gear still fits, the purpose still burns, but the soul left a very long time ago.
The base features crumbled stonework and overgrown foliage, suggesting a forgotten battlefield or the outskirts of a cursed ruin. Every detail — the chainmail links, the quiver of bolts, the articulated bone fingers gripping the crossbow stock — rewards a careful paint job, making this a rewarding piece for both tabletop use and display. This is pose 1 of our Lost Crusader range from DM Stash.
Well suited for adventurers who:
- Need disciplined undead ranged combatants for D&D 5e or other TTRPG encounters
- Are building cursed battlefield, ruined fortress, or necromantic army encounters
- Want a skeleton miniature with real character — not just a shambling generic undead
- Enjoy a rewarding painting project with fine chainmail and bonework detail
- Are expanding a display collection with thematic undead fantasy miniatures
Encounter Hook:
The party descends into the sunken crypt beneath the old chapel, expecting kobolds — what they find instead is a line of armoured skeletal archers, still standing at their posts after three hundred years, crossbows trained on the entrance. The one at the centre turns its hooded skull towards the party. It does not fire. It is waiting for something. It is waiting for orders that will never come.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and decorative base are separate pieces — a small amount of superglue will bond them securely. The base detail interacts with the model's stance, so we recommend attaching them for the best display result. Supplied unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brush or spray primer.
