The Limb Golem is one of those miniatures that stops a table cold the moment it hits the mat. Sculpted by Epic Miniatures, it is a large-scale horror construct — a lurching mass of fused limbs, puckered flesh, gaping maws, and curving claws that suggest no single origin and no mercy. A central circular mouth dominates the torso, ringed with teeth and surrounded by grotesque lumps of merged anatomy, while the arms terminate in clusters of raking talons. The whole form crouches on thick, warped legs, poised somewhere between a lunge and a shamble. It is the kind of creature that suggests dark magic gone catastrophically wrong — or catastrophically right, depending on whose lab you're standing in.
The sculpt arrives as a multipart kit and sits on a large 51mm decorative base — giving it the presence of a proper encounter piece, not just a monster token. Whether you lean into a necrotic pallor with off-whites and bruised purples, or go full aberrant horror with sickly greens and ichor-yellow, the surface texture rewards ambitious painters. There is a generous amount of detail packed into every warped surface — bubbled skin, layered claws, and that unsettling centrepiece mouth all offer genuine painting interest.
Adventurers who want this miniature tend to be:
- Dungeon Masters running body horror arcs, mad-mage laboratories, or Underdark aberrant encounters
- Painters drawn to creature sculpts with complex organic textures and multiple focal points
- Collectors building out a menagerie of constructs, aberrations, and things that should not exist
- Anyone whose players need a very clear visual signal that something has gone deeply, irreversibly wrong
Encounter Hook
The party has been hired to investigate a wizard's tower gone silent. On the third floor, they find it — assembled from the remains of the tower's former occupants, standing over the wizard's still-smoking chair, cocking its misshapen head as if hearing them for the very first time. Initiative rolls, please.
