Lily Pad Boat by Mia Kay M3DM
Description
Drifting silently along a moonlit river, half-hidden beneath a canopy of giant lotus blossoms, this ancient boat seems to belong to the water itself — as though the swamp grew it rather than any craftsman shaped it.

The Lily Pad Boat is a wonderfully characterful piece of scatter terrain, sculpted with the kind of organic detail that makes a battle map feel genuinely alive. The hull is carved with swirling vine motifs, while a tall stem rises from the centre bearing a full water lily bloom and arching upward into a broad, veined leaf — forming a natural canopy over the vessel's open deck. A smaller lotus bud sits at the prow, and the whole thing carries the feel of something grown from the riverbed rather than built by hand. Whether it belongs to a river sprite, a fey ferryman, or simply drifts untended through a flooded ruin, it tells a story the moment it lands on the table.
Equally at home in a Feywild waterway, an ancient jungle delta, or the marshy outskirts of a sunken city, this piece rewards a skilled painter — the layered petals, the textured stem, and the relief carvings on the hull all offer excellent surface detail to bring out with washes and dry-brushing.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need atmospheric scatter terrain for river, swamp, or Feywild encounters
- Are building immersive battle maps with genuine environmental character
- Want a centrepiece prop for a diorama or display shelf
- Are looking for a distinctive painting project with rich surface detail
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the edge of the Mirewood Mere to find this boat moored at the bank — unattended, lantern still lit, a still-warm cup of tea on the deck. Whoever was piloting it stepped away only minutes ago. The reeds on the far bank are moving against the wind.
Supplied unpainted and ready for priming. Scaled to 32mm. Printed as a multi-part piece — the canopy leaf and stem assembly fits onto the hull and can be attached with a small amount of glue. Some minor cleanup of support marks may be needed; these are easily addressed with light sanding.
