Lichenthrope by Witchsong Miniatures
Description
Where the old forest turns black and the pumpkins split open on their own, something older than autumn has come to feed.
- ✔ Display-scale miniature — larger than standard 32mm gaming scale
- ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Equally suited to display shelves and the gaming table
The Lichenthrope is not a werewolf. It is what happens when a lycanthrope dies in a cursed grove and the wood refuses to let it go. Bark and vine replace flesh, antler-like branches crown its hunched form, and a single outstretched claw reaches forward mid-lunge — not to strike, but to claim. The sculpt captures the creature in that precise, horrible moment of forward momentum: low to the ground, weight shifting, jaws parted. The base is thick with scatter — pumpkins, fallen debris, gnarled roots — setting the scene of a cursed harvest ground before a single die is rolled.
Details
This is a large display-scale piece, well above standard 32mm — the base measures 80mm across — placing it firmly in boss monster territory. It suits a Dungeon Master who wants an encounter piece with genuine presence on the table, and a painter who wants something with deep surface texture to work with. Every ridge of bark, every wrapped tendril, every hollow socket in that wolf-like skull is an invitation to ink and highlight.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a memorable BBEG or apex predator for a Feywild or dark forest campaign arc
- Want a centrepiece monster that reads as threatening from across the table
- Are building a harvest-season, cursed village, or corrupted nature encounter
- Collect display-scale fantasy miniatures for painting or shelf display
Encounter Hook:
Three hunters entered the Ashenmere pinewoods at dusk to track what had been killing the livestock. By dawn, two sets of boot prints returned to the village edge — and one set of something else, far larger, moving outward into the trees.
This model is supplied at large display scale (80mm base) as designed by the artist — sized to command the table as a boss character. The base is supplied detached and can be affixed with a small amount of glue. The model arrives ready for priming and painting, or can be used as-is straight from the box. As with all hand-finished pieces, minor imperfections may occasionally occur; any small marks are easily tidied with a hobby knife before priming.
