Lichenthrope Bust by Witchsong Miniatures
Description
Where the forest reclaims the flesh, something ancient and feral stirs — neither wolf nor man, but something the wilderness made for itself.
- ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
- ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
- ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions
The Lichenthrope is not a simple werewolf. It is a creature born of deep woodland corruption, its form overtaken by creeping lichen and twisted bark-like fur, the boundary between beast and forest long since dissolved. This bust captures the creature mid-snarl — head lowered, maw open, ears splayed, every tendon and fold of its hide rendered in extraordinary detail. The sculpt sits atop a craggy stone plinth, making it a self-contained display piece that needs nothing added to command attention on a shelf or painting desk.
For Dungeon Masters, this is the face of something that haunts cursed woodlands: a druid's failed transformation, a guardian of a desecrated grove, or simply a predator that has been in the forest long enough to become part of it. For painters, every surface offers something worth exploring — layered fur texture, rocky protrusions, the open mouth with its exposed teeth, and the dramatic downward lean of the head.
Excellent for adventurers who:
- Paint display busts and want a creature with genuine surface complexity
- Collect fantasy horror sculpts for shelf displays or painting competitions
- Need a striking visual prop or NPC reference for a forest horror campaign
- Want a centrepiece that bridges the gap between painting hobby and TTRPG world-building
Encounter Hook:
The rangers call it the Greenmaw — a lycanthrope that vanished into the Thornwood three winters ago and did not come back the same. When your party tracks it to the heart of the corrupted grove, they don't find a beast at bay. They find something that has stopped running, because it no longer fears anything that walks on two legs.
Details
This is a display bust, not a standard combat miniature — it is sculpted for painting projects, shelf display, and narrative inspiration rather than battlefield use. Supplied unpainted. The decorative plinth base is included as part of the sculpt.
