Description

The phylactery was destroyed — or so they believed — yet Thirazar endures, a gaunt skull wreathed in writhing tendrils, his tattered robes bristling with shards of necrotic crystal as though death itself cannot contain what he has become.

  • ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
  • ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions

This bust captures Thirazar in arresting detail: a lich's fleshless skull leers from beneath a ragged hood, dark tentacle-like protrusions curling from the cowl as a reminder that this creature's hunger for arcane power twisted him far beyond the merely undead. Layers of decayed, feather-edged robes wrap around the figure in cascading folds, riddled with jagged crystal shards that erupt from the cloth like frozen necrotic energy. The sculpted plinth below features gothic filigree, scattered crystal outcroppings, and a small skull half-buried at the base — a detail that rewards a close look and a careful brush.

The piece reads as a formidable centrepiece whether left in its raw grey state or taken to the painting table. Those layered robes are a gift to a skilled drybrusher, while the exposed skull and crystalline spikes offer strong contrast opportunities with a wet palette. Front to back, the sculpt holds up — the rear view reveals the full depth of those weathered robe layers and the intricate scroll-work winding around the column beneath.

Well suited to adventurers who:

  • Want a high-detail painting project with strong textural variety — cloth, bone, stone, and crystal all in one piece
  • Are building a display shelf of iconic D&D villains and undead lords
  • Need a visual prop to introduce a lich BBEG at the table without spoiling a miniature mid-campaign
  • Collect character busts as finished display pieces in their own right

Encounter Hook:
The party finally breach the inner sanctum of the Ashen Spire — and there, mounted above the dais on an obsidian stand, is a bust identical to the one described in every warning they ignored. Thirazar's voice fills the chamber before his body does: "You found the vessel. How gratifying. Now he finds you." The candles go out one by one.
