This is a leonin of tremendous spiritual authority: a warrior-priest whose role sits somewhere between champion and omen. He stands bare-chested and battle-ready, a demon-masked maul cradled in one great fist, while behind him rises an elaborate solar reliquary — a spear-tipped ceremonial standard wreathed in stylised flames and ornate scrollwork that speaks of ancient rites and blood-soaked ceremony. Tribal engravings run across his bracers and belt plate, and a horned demon-face buckle guards his waist. His mane is full and wild, his leonine feet planted with the patience of something that already knows it will win.
The sculpt captures a character who is neither mindless berserker nor distant deity — he is a conduit, something between warlord and high priest, equally at home leading a pride into battle or standing before a dying sun to perform a rite that will cost him everything. In a 5e campaign, he could be built as a Barbarian, a Paladin of a sun deity, or even a War Cleric — the silhouette supports all three. Equally, he makes a formidable recurring antagonist: the kind of figure your players will remember long after the session ends. Scaled at 35mm, the detail on the reliquary and armour carving rewards careful painting and display collecting alike.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Want a leonin player character with genuine presence at the table
- Need a powerful NPC faction leader, cult champion, or sun-worshipping warlord
- Are building a solar, desert, or savannah-themed campaign arc
- Collect showcase pieces that stand out from the usual fantasy range
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the edge of a decimated settlement — buildings scorched from above, the survivors prostrated in the ash, chanting. At the village centre stands the Harbinger, the reliquary blazing behind him, calmly explaining that the Blood Sun demanded this tribute and that the adventurers are either its next offering or its next instruments. He seems entirely unbothered by which.
