Leaning Tree by Mia Kay M3DM
Description
At the edge of the clearing, a lone dead tree leans as though straining to hear something no living creature can — its bare, skeletal branches clawing at the sky.
- ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
- ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
- ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama
This leaning dead tree is a beautifully sculpted piece of scatter terrain that brings immediate character to any wilderness, cursed forest, or blighted landscape scene. The gnarled trunk twists as it rises, scored with deep bark lines and a hollow knot halfway up its body — just large enough to suggest something once nested there, or still does. The bare branches splay and fork at wild angles, giving the whole piece that unmistakable silhouette of a tree long dead but not yet fallen.
Whether placed at the edge of a haunted wood, beside a lonely country road, or in the shadow of a ruined keep, this piece transforms a flat grid into a scene your players will remember. It works equally well as part of a full terrain set or as a solitary focal point on an otherwise sparse map — and off the table, it makes for a compelling display or diorama centrepiece.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Are building atmospheric wilderness or cursed forest encounters
- Need evocative scatter terrain that reads clearly at the table
- Are putting together a Ravenloft, Feywild, or dark countryside scene
- Want a striking piece for a painted diorama or display shelf
Encounter Hook:
The party has been tracking the missing shepherd for three days. When they finally find the spot marked on his crude map, all that stands there is this hollow-knottted tree — and carved into the bark, just above eye level, are seven tally marks and a single word: watching.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The piece arrives as a single unit, ready for priming and painting or use straight from the box. As with all hand-finished pieces, minor surface marks may occasionally be present and are easily tidied up before painting.
