Sintrius Gulch cuts a striking figure: a masked, armoured scholar who stands somewhere between a warlord and a wandering sage. His ornate ceremonial mask conceals whatever expression he wears beneath it, lending him an air of deliberate enigma. In one hand he carries a tall staff topped with an elaborate runic finial — the kind of weapon that looks more like a symbol of office than a tool of combat — while the other cradles an open tome, its pages worn with use. Heavy woven robes drape over articulated armour plating, rope-like braids hang across his chest, and his traveller's hood frames the whole silhouette with the quiet authority of someone who leads not by shouting, but by simply knowing more than everyone else in the room.
The sculpt captures him mid-reading on a fractured stone ruin base — a scene that suggests he arrived somewhere others abandoned long ago, and intends to stay. Whether you cast him as a faction leader with an inscrutable agenda, a warlock patron made flesh, a neutral information broker, or the primary antagonist of a long-running campaign arc, Sintrius rewards both careful painting and thoughtful deployment at the table. The detail in his robes, the tooled leather of his belt and pouches, and the filigree work on his staff make this a genuinely rewarding piece to paint and a compelling display piece in its own right.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a memorable masked NPC to anchor a faction or cult storyline
- Want a morally ambiguous scholar-warrior with presence to spare
- Are building a warlock patron encounter or sage-villain reveal
- Collect display miniatures with strong silhouette and layered surface detail
Encounter Hook:
The party discovers Sintrius Gulch standing alone in the centre of a ruined library, calmly reading a tome that should not exist — a text the party's wizard swears was destroyed decades ago. He closes the book, looks up, and asks a single question: "Did they send you to retrieve me, or to confirm that I am still here?" He does not reach for his staff. He does not need to.
