Large Ionic Column by Mia Kay M3DM
Description
The temple has stood for a thousand years — and tonight, someone intends to bring it down.
- ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
- ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
- ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama
Modelled after the grand ionic order of ancient architecture, this large column scatter piece brings a sense of weight and history to any tabletop encounter. The fluted shaft rises from a square plinth to a pair of elegant scroll volutes — the kind of stonework that suggests forgotten gods, fallen empires, and dungeons that were once something far grander. Whether standing intact or imagined as a crumbling ruin, it anchors a scene with quiet authority.
Scaled to 32mm, this is the sort of terrain piece that transforms a gridded mat into a place your players will remember. Use it as cover in a skirmish through a ruined agora, a ceremonial centrepiece in a cleric's sanctum, or a lonely remnant in a collapsed undercroft. It works equally well as a display piece for diorama builders who want classical architecture with genuine sculpted detail.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Are building Greek, Roman, or classical ruin-themed battle maps
- Need imposing scatter terrain for temple, plaza, or dungeon encounters
- Want architectural detail pieces for dioramas or display shelves
- Are running campaigns set in ancient or lost civilisations
Encounter Hook:
The party enters the Hall of the Forgotten Compact — a colonnaded chamber deep beneath the city — only to find three of the great ionic columns toppled and the fourth still standing, a chained figure slumped against its base. The cultists are already chanting. Initiative, please.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model with the simple base is cast as a single piece, base attached. The model with a plain base is supplied with the base detached and can be fixed easily with a small amount of adhesive. Ready for priming and painting straight out of the box, or display as-is for an unpainted stone aesthetic. Supports are removed before dispatch; minor surface marks are possible as part of the printing process and can be tidied with light sanding.
