Kurt the Stern is a full-plate knight built for the front line and the dramatic moment. Clad in layered scale-and-plate armour with a riveted kite shield bearing a sun-disc emblem, Kurt stands wide-legged and composed — his longsword drawn back over his shoulder, ready to strike or already halting mid-swing. His visored great helm conceals any expression, leaving only posture and presence to communicate his intent. That presence is considerable. Whether he's a grizzled city guard captain, a fallen paladin serving a morally ambiguous lord, or a rival fighter who's been one step behind the party since session one, Kurt has the sculpt to carry the role.
The detailing across this miniature rewards a careful painter: the quilted padding beneath the plate, the belt and buckle at the waist, the subtle wear suggested in each panel of armour. From the front, he reads as a knight poised on the edge of combat; from the rear, the full quilted gambeson and heavy pauldrons tell the story of a man who has taken hits and kept moving.
A fine choice for adventurers who:
- Need a named knight NPC — captain, rival, or quest-giver — with real table presence
- Are building a Fighter or Paladin player character with a no-nonsense, veteran look
- Want a well-armoured human warrior for faction guards, city watch, or martial order encounters
- Paint display miniatures and want strong armour detail and clear shadow-catching surfaces to work with
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at the city gates to find them sealed — and standing before them is a helmeted knight who introduces himself only as Kurt. He has orders to let no one pass. He won't say why. He won't say who gave the order. And from the way his sword hand shifts almost imperceptibly to the hilt, it's clear he's hoping someone tries to argue.

What's included:
Kurt the Stern is printed at 32mm scale and comes with a plain round base. A decorative base option is also available — if selected, please include a note at checkout specifying which base style you'd prefer. The base arrives separate and attaches easily with a small amount of glue. As with all hand-finished miniatures, minor surface marks may occasionally be present; these are easily tidied up before priming.
