Small in stature but absolutely not in ambition, this kobold has traded tunnel traps for a broad axe and a battered shield — and it shows in every line of its snarling muzzle.

This is Kobold 04 from Yasashii Kyojin Studio, and it cuts a distinctly martial silhouette compared to the more scrappy variants in the range. Standing at 18mm tall, this particular sculpt depicts a stocky, horned kobold warrior armoured with a cracked round shield and hefting a wide-bladed axe in one clawed hand. The tail curls low behind splayed reptilian feet, and those jagged, overlapping teeth suggest this one has survived more than a few encounters with adventuring parties. A second sculpt in the range crouches low in an aggressive, coiled stance — axe pulled close to the body, head dropped into a charging posture — ideal for representing a kobold mid-ambush or readying a reckless attack.
Both sculpts carry the same energy: these aren't mere minions. They're the ones the kobold war-band sends in when cunning isn't enough. Whether scattered across a dungeon corridor as ranked soldiers, positioned as a dragon cult's honour guard, or used individually as a particularly bolshy enemy NPC, the detail in these sculpts rewards careful painting and looks distinctive on any shelf.

Encounter Hook:
The war-drums started three rooms back. Now, as the party rounds the corner into the torchlit shrine, they find a line of shield-bearing kobolds — axes raised, tails rigid, and behind them the unmistakable glint of something far larger coiled in the dark.
Scaled to 32mm (18mm tall). Available with or without a plain black base — base is supplied unattached and can be fixed with a small amount of glue. Each miniature is quality checked before dispatch; minor surface marks are possible and easily tidied up before priming. Supplied unpainted and ready for your brush.
