Tristan is a sculpt that carries genuine weight. This is a knight in the truest sense: chain hauberk layered beneath a belted surcoat embossed with a rearing dragon, a broad heater shield bearing that same proud heraldic beast, and a longsword held with the casual confidence of someone who has never once lost a duel they needed to win. A flowing cape billows behind him, and his expression — depending on the pose — shifts between focused defiance and resolute surveying calm. Three distinct poses are available in this range, each capturing a different facet of Tristan's character: blade raised and shield forward in a ready stance, shield-prominent in a guarded advance, and a commanding stand with sword at his side and gaze lifted toward some distant horizon.
From the Chronicles of Excalibur collection by Primal Collectibles, this sculpt suits any Arthurian-inspired setting, high-chivalry campaign, or court intrigue story where a celebrated knight needs a face. He works equally well as a seasoned Fighter PC, a named NPC rival, or a display piece for collectors drawn to the Arthurian tradition.
A good fit for adventurers who:
- Are playing or DMing a high-medieval or Arthurian-themed TTRPG campaign
- Want a Fighter or Paladin PC miniature with genuine heroic presence
- Need a named knight NPC — champion, rival, or quest-giver — who reads instantly on the table
- Collect display-scale miniatures from mythology-inspired fantasy ranges
Encounter Hook:
The party arrives at a tournament ground to find the lists already silenced — every challenger has conceded without raising a sword. Tristan stands alone in the centre, cape still settling, shield unmarked. The tournament lord leans to the party and murmurs: "He is not here to win a prize. He is here to deliver a message. The question is whether it is meant for you."
Scaled to 32mm. Supplied unpainted and ready for priming. The decorative scenic base is available as a separate option and is recommended — several poses interact with the base terrain in a way that enhances the overall composition. The model and base are supplied as separate pieces and attach easily with a small amount of glue. As with all hand-finished prints, minor support marks may occasionally be present and are straightforward to clean up.
