Sir Ywan is a warrior of the old knightly tradition — broad-shouldered and unyielding, clad in layered plate and chainmail with a magnificent fur-trimmed mantle swept across his shoulders. The lion rampant emblazoned on his breastplate marks him as a knight of standing, and his expression — weathered, resolute, carrying the quiet authority of someone who no longer needs to raise his voice — tells you everything about the kind of man he is. This bust captures him sword lowered, cape billowing behind him, as though he has just surveyed a field and already decided how it ends.
From the Chronicles of Excalibur collection by Primal Collectibles, Sir Ywan is a showcase piece through and through. The sculpt rewards painters generously — the fur mantle alone offers rich textural variety, while the engraved chainmail, buckled tassets, and deeply characterful face give talented brushwork plenty to work with. Whether you're entering a painting competition, building a display shelf of legendary knights, or simply want an NPC portrait that will make your players sit up a little straighter when they walk into the great hall, Sir Ywan delivers.
Made for adventurers who:
- Want a serious display painting project with genuine sculpt complexity
- Are building a Arthurian-themed or medieval fantasy miniature collection
- Need a commanding visual for a high-ranking knight NPC, patron, or quest-giver
- Appreciate character-driven sculpts that tell a story before any paint is applied
Encounter Hook:
The party has been summoned before Sir Ywan after rumours of their deeds reached the castle. He sits in silence as they enter the hall — not seated on a throne, but standing with sword tip resting on the flagstones, lion-crested armour freshly cleaned of blood from whatever he dealt with this morning. He doesn't speak until they've fully crossed the room. Then: "I'm told you can handle what the crown's men cannot. Prove it."

What's included:
Sir Ywan is a bust-format miniature — sculpted to approximately 32mm scale convention but sized as a display bust, making him a larger, showpiece piece compared to a standard tabletop figure. He comes on a detailed circular base integral to the sculpt. Supplied unpainted and ready to prime. Minor support marks may occasionally be visible and are easily addressed before painting.
