Description

He has stood at the gates of Camelot through three kings and twice as many wars — and Sir Lucan has yet to lower his standard.

  • ✔ Large-scale display bust — significantly bigger than standard 32mm
  • ✔ Resin printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — ideal as a centrepiece painting project
  • ✔ Designed for display shelves and painting competitions

From Primal Collectibles' Chronicles of Excalibur range, this bust captures Sir Lucan in commanding detail: a battle-worn knight in layered plate armour, his breastplate bearing a heraldic tower crest wreathed in ornate scrollwork. He grips a battle standard in one gauntleted fist — the torn banner a mark of campaigns hard-fought — while his free hand rests near the pommel of a sword at his hip. The face tells the story without a single word: heavy-set, bearded, grey-streaked hair swept back, and a gaze that has seen too much to be easily unsettled.

The back of the sculpt is just as considered as the front — a sweeping campaign cloak drapes across broad shoulders, its frayed hem hinting at long roads and harder battles. For painters, the contrast between chainmail, plate, weathered leather, and the soft fall of that cloak offers a genuinely rewarding project. For collectors, this is a display piece with real presence on any shelf.

Well-suited for adventurers who:

  • Want a substantial bust project with varied surface textures — chainmail, plate, cloth, and leather all in one sculpt
  • Are building a Arthurian or knightly court collection for display
  • Need a memorable knight NPC — a grizzled lord, a fallen champion, or a Paladin patron — to anchor a campaign
  • Play or run games in high-chivalric or Arthurian-inspired settings

Encounter Hook:

The party arrives at a besieged fortified keep, its banner in tatters but still flying. Standing alone at the gate is an ageing knight in battered plate, a tower crest on his breastplate and a torn standard in hand. He hasn't slept. He hasn't retreated. He introduces himself only as Lucan, and he tells the adventurers, without emotion, that he has held this gate for eleven days and intends to hold it eleven more — whether they help or not.

This is a bust-format display piece, sculpted from the Primal Collectibles Chronicles of Excalibur range. It is scaled to complement 32mm tabletop miniatures and arrives unprimed and unpainted, ready for your brushwork. Every piece is individually checked before dispatch.
