King Trendium, sovereign of Belfrie, cuts an imposing figure even without a throne beneath him. Clad in richly engraved full plate, every panel of his armour is worked with intricate knotwork and floral tracery that speaks of a kingdom with history and craft behind it. A fur-collared royal cloak cascades from his shoulders, its reverse covered in a repeating geometric pattern that catches the eye from every angle. He wears his crown not as ornament but as armour of a different kind — pointed, unyielding, and worn into battle without apology. His longsword is lowered but far from sheathed, carried with the ease of a man who has used it often and well. The sculpt sits on a beautifully detailed ceremonial base, ringed with baroque mouldings and fleur-de-lis flourishes that elevate it as much display piece as gaming token.
Whether you place him across the table from your players as a morally complex monarch or hand him to the paladin who finally bent the knee to a crown worth serving, King Trendium commands the scene with weight and conviction. Equally at home on a display shelf as on a battle map, this sculpt rewards a careful paint job — the cloak texture, armour filigree, and fur collar each offer distinct and satisfying opportunities for contrast and layering.
Well suited to adventurers who:
- Need a regal NPC with genuine authority — quest-giver, patron, or campaign antagonist
- Are running a political intrigue arc centred on a threatened or contested kingdom
- Want a named ruler miniature that can double as a Fighter or Paladin player character
- Collect display-quality historical fantasy sculpts from independent artists
Encounter Hook:
The party is summoned to the war room of King Trendium himself — who greets them not from a throne, but standing over a campaign map, sword resting against the table. He needs something retrieved from behind enemy lines before dawn, and he makes clear he is asking as a courtesy, not a formality. The crown is on his brow. The blade is close to hand. Refusal, it is quietly implied, would be unwise.
Details
Supplied at 32mm scale. The model and decorative base are separate pieces and attach securely with superglue — the base is sculpted to complement the figure and the two are best presented together. As with all hand-finished pieces, minor surface marks may occasionally be present; these are easily addressed before priming. Supplied unpainted and ready for your brush.
