The Fisher King is one of the most haunting figures in Arthurian legend: a monarch bound to his seat by an ancient wound, his kingdom withering around him, his only solace a vessel of immense power he cannot use alone. This sculpt captures that tragic grandeur with remarkable fidelity — the aged king seated upon a great stone throne, his long robes pooling at his feet, his crown still resting on a head bowed slightly with centuries of waiting. In one hand he cradles a chalice — the Grail itself — while the other rests upon his knee, a spear leaning against the throne at his side. The base features scattered stonework details that suggest a crumbling court, overgrown and forgotten.

Three distinct renders are available for this character, each offering a slightly different angle and composition of the same seated pose — making this a particularly rewarding subject for painters who want to study the detail from every direction. The sculpt rewards careful brushwork: the texture of the king's robes, the filigree trim at his hem, the deep-set lines of his face, and the intricate crown all offer excellent detail to bring out with layering and washes. Equally, he makes an arresting display piece straight from the printer. Suitable for 32mm gaming tables and larger display collections alike.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Need a powerful, lore-rich NPC at the heart of a holy relic quest
  • Are running an Arthurian, Grail-quest, or high medieval fantasy campaign
  • Want a seated ruler or wounded monarch for a throne room encounter
  • Are building a display collection of legendary or mythic figures
  • Love painting aged, weathered characters with rich textile and face detail

Encounter Hook:
The party has searched three kingdoms for the Grail, following rumours to a forgotten castle at the edge of a dying land. They find the Fisher King exactly as the legends described — seated, ancient, and utterly still, the chalice balanced in trembling hands. He does not ask them to fight. He asks them a single question. And none of the party can immediately agree on the answer.

Details

Printed at 32mm scale. The model and decorative base are supplied as separate pieces and can be fixed together with a small amount of glue — the sculpt is designed to interact with its base, so we recommend displaying them together. Print quality is high, with supports removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor marks may occasionally remain and can be easily tidied up before painting.
