The Killer Whale Dragon is one of those rare sculpts that makes a table go quiet. Combining the streamlined, predatory silhouette of an orca with the classic draconic form — muscular haunches, broad wingspan, and a long neck raised in a roar — this miniature carries real weight. Whether you use it as a coastal lair boss, a creature bound to a sea-god's service, or simply an impossibly dangerous apex predator that has claimed a stretch of coastline as its own, it commands the encounter from the moment it hits the mat.
The sculpt shows two views of the same dragon: a large, rearing pose with wings spread wide and neck stretched high in challenge, and a smaller companion view showing the creature in a more grounded, prowling stance. Both capture the same predatory character — fluid, muscular, and unmistakably dangerous. Equally at home on a gaming table mid-encounter or on a display shelf as a centrepiece, this is a miniature that earns its footprint.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Need a coastal or aquatic-themed dragon encounter that stands apart from the standard chromatic or metallic roster
- Are building a nautical or island campaign and want a genuinely memorable boss creature
- Collect dragons and want a sculpt with a distinctive real-world animal influence
- Enjoy painting projects where unusual colour schemes — black, white, oceanic blues — can really shine
Encounter Hook:
The fishing village of Saltmere has not lost a boat to storms — the masts wash up too cleanly broken, the nets sliced rather than torn. When the party investigates the sea-caves at low tide, they find scales the size of dinner plates lining the walls, and a hoard of sunken gold glittering thirty feet below the surface. The Killer Whale Dragon does not wait for them to leave.
