The Keeper of the Library 02 is a genuinely unsettling presence at any table. This six-armed undead scholar looms in tattered robes that fan out across the floor in frayed, tomb-worn ribbons, its skeletal face half-concealed beneath a deep hood, an eye patch hinting at a history of loss — or perhaps of sacrifice. Three of its arms clutch open grimoires, their rune-marked covers glowing with latent power, while a fourth reaches outward in a gesture that is equal parts invitation and warning. This is not a creature that fights for survival; it fights to preserve secrets it has guarded for centuries.
Whether you place this figure at the heart of a forbidden archive, as the final guardian of a lich's sanctum, or as a recurring presence in a campaign built around cursed knowledge and ancient magic, the Keeper brings genuine menace and visual drama to the table. It works equally well as a painted centrepiece for display collectors who appreciate the complexity of multi-armed undead sculpts.
Perfect for adventurers who:
- Run campaigns involving forbidden libraries, ancient curses, or lich cults
- Need a visually distinctive undead spellcaster as a boss encounter or recurring NPC
- Enjoy painting highly detailed multi-limbed figures with layered cloth and aged textures
- Collect dark fantasy miniatures for display alongside undead or arcane-themed pieces
Encounter Hook:
The party follows a map to the sub-level of a ruined mage tower. The shelves stretch upward into darkness, packed with books that whisper in dead languages. At the far end of the aisle, six arms slowly turn pages in six different tomes at once — and then, without looking up, a voice says: "You have come for the Codex of Unravelling. I have been expecting you for forty-three years. Sit."
