Keeper of the Final Rot (Putridahl) by Great Grimoire

The Keeper of the Final Rot is a towering undead warrior sculpted with extraordinary detail across every surface. Exposed bone breaks through what remains of layered armour, while writhing sinew and necrotic tissue coil around the torso and limbs like the aftermath of some terrible, half-completed resurrection. The left hand clutches the haft of a massive, crescent-bladed great axe raised high — not in triumph, but as a threat to every living thing in reach. The right arm trails skeletal fingers, loose and deliberate, as if savouring the silence before the strike. Tattered chainmail hangs at the waist, and the legs are encased in engraved armour that has long since begun to fuse with the rot beneath it. This is not a mindless shambling corpse — this is a general whose bones remember every campaign.
Details
At 35mm scale, the sculpt rewards both the tabletop and the painting desk. The front and back offer equally rich detail: the rear view reveals the full sweep of the great axe blade, the billowing remnants of a cloak, and the intricate texture of corruption spreading across the back armour. Whether you're fielding Putridahl as a lich's champion, a cursed warlord returned from a forgotten war, or a unique boss encounter deep beneath the earth, this miniature commands the table.
Suited to adventurers who:
- Need a commanding undead boss or elite enemy for D&D 5e or other TTRPG campaigns
- Run Underdark, necromancy-themed, or dark fantasy encounters
- Want a display piece that holds up to serious painting — OSL, NMM, and contrast techniques all have plenty to work with here
- Are building a warlord's undead retinue or a lich's inner circle
Encounter Hook:
The party descends into the collapsed throne room of a long-dead conqueror — only to find the throne occupied. Putridahl has been waiting there for three centuries, axe across his knees, and the skeletal retinue at his flanks begins to rise the moment a torch is lit.
