Kael Asterion is a warrior-cleric sculpted for the tabletop with a level of detail that rewards patient painters and impresses even when left in grey. He cuts an imposing figure: broad-shouldered and battle-worn, clad in layered armour decorated throughout with compass-rose sigils — on the chest clasp, the belt buckle, and the orb of his star-forged mace. A heavy cape billows behind him, its collar inscribed with runic script visible along the neckline, while his expression — bearded, weathered, and utterly resolved — speaks of a man who has seen too much to flinch at anything.

What truly sets this sculpt apart is the celestial magic surrounding him. Dozens of eight-pointed star-blades orbit his body on conjured lances of force, sweeping around him in dynamic arcs that extend across the base and into the surrounding space. The base itself is scattered with fallen star-blades, reinforcing the sense that this magic is constant, present, and barely contained. It is a genuinely dramatic piece — the kind that draws eyes across a crowded gaming table and earns its place as a centrepiece model.

Two front-facing angles are shown in the product images alongside a full rear view, which reveals the flowing cape in all its detail, the runic collar inscription, and the intricate construction of the orbiting star-lance formations. This is a 35mm scale sculpt, slightly larger than the standard 32mm, giving Kael a commanding presence wherever he is placed.

Kael works equally well as a player character miniature for a Divine Soul Sorcerer, a War Cleric, or a Paladin who has traded conventional piety for something far more martial — or as a high-ranking NPC, a temple champion, or even a BBEG whose faith has curdled into zealotry. His compass-rose iconography hints at a deity of navigation, fate, or the stars, making him a natural fit for cosmological or planar campaign arcs.

This miniature suits adventurers who:

  • Play divine spellcasters, Clerics, or Paladins with a martial edge
  • Need a commanding NPC cleric, inquisitor, or celestial champion
  • Want a centrepiece model with dramatic magical spell-effect elements built into the sculpt
  • Run campaigns in celestial realms, elemental planes, or star-touched settings
  • Enjoy painting intricate armour detail, sigil work, and dynamic magical effects

Encounter Hook

The party arrives at the observatory shrine expecting an abandoned ruin — instead they find Kael Asterion standing motionless at its centre, star-blades orbiting him in slow, steady rotation. He has been waiting three days for someone worthy to deliver a warning: the constellation known as the Shepherd's Compass is being unmade, star by star, and the god behind it is no longer answering prayers. He needs the adventurers to go where even a champion of the divine cannot follow.
