The Jersey Devil occupies a uniquely unnerving space between cryptid folklore and infernal horror. This sculpt captures it with visceral precision: a hunched, fur-matted body balanced on cloven-toed legs, great bat-like wings spread wide from its back, a bovine skull twisted into a permanent snarl, and a coiling tail that ends in a venomous flick. The outstretched clawed hand and forward-leaning stance read as a creature mid-lunge — something that hunts, not something that waits. Every surface is alive with textural detail, from the knotted musculature of its chest to the ribbed membrane of its wings.
For Dungeon Masters, this miniature works equally well as a high-CR solo encounter, an emissary of an infernal patron, or something altogether stranger — a creature from beyond the Material Plane whose origin no sage can quite agree upon. It sits comfortably alongside fiends, monstrosities, or even fey-adjacent horrors depending on how your campaign frames the unknown. For collectors and painters, the sculpt rewards a dark, wetland palette — deep teals, swamp greens, and ash greys will make those wings sing.
A fine addition for adventurers who:
- Need a winged fiend or monstrosity for a D&D 5e or TTRPG encounter
- Are running a Weird West, gothic horror, or cryptid-themed campaign
- Want a striking display piece with exceptional surface texture
- Are looking for a memorable warlock patron envoy or boss encounter
Encounter Hook:
Three militia scouts were sent into the marshland to investigate the livestock deaths. Only one returned — and she hasn't spoken since. Now the village elder is offering a substantial purse to whoever will go back in and bring proof of what took the others. The proof, it turns out, is already circling above the treeline.
Scaled to 32mm and supplied unpainted, ready for priming and painting straight out of the box. The miniature comes with a sculpted rubble base integrated into the model. A version with a detached plain base is also available — this can be fixed in place with a small amount of glue. Minor surface marks from the printing process may occasionally occur; these are easily tidied up before painting.
