In D&D 5e, the Invisible Stalker is a bound air elemental compelled to hunt a single target until the task is complete or it is destroyed. Relentless, incorporeal, and utterly silent, it is one of the most unsettling threats a Dungeon Master can unleash — not because it's powerful in a showy way, but because it simply does not stop. This sculpt by MZ4250 captures that dread beautifully: a swirling mass of smoky void-flesh, jagged claws splayed wide, horned visage twisted into something between a skull and a scream, erupting from a rocky base as if tearing through the very material plane.
The miniature reads as deliberately paradoxical — a creature defined by invisibility rendered in striking physical form. That makes it a compelling piece for both the tabletop and the display shelf. The flowing, flame-like body and sharp, raking limbs give painters a genuinely interesting canvas to work with, whether you go for deep blacks and ethereal blues or lean into ghostly whites and translucent effects.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Run intrigue or assassination-driven campaign arcs where an unseen hunter pursues the party
- Want a memorable air elemental or planar creature for their encounter collection
- Are building a conjuration wizard's repertoire of summoned threats
- Enjoy painting dynamic creature sculpts with flowing, non-humanoid forms
- Collect MZ4250's creature range for display
Encounter Hook:
The party is three days into their journey when they notice it — every campfire dies faster than it should, boot prints appear beside theirs in the mud each morning, and the ranger's hound refuses to sleep. Someone hired a Stalker. They just don't know who — or why.
