This Insectoid Monk is a force of controlled aggression — a four-armed arthropod warrior who has honed each limb into an independent weapon. Two pairs of arms work in terrifying unison, each gripping a curved, wickedly tapered blade. The sculpt captures a wide combat stance, clawed feet braced for explosive movement, with the blades arcing overhead in a whirlwind flourish that speaks to a lifetime of martial discipline.
The detail across the body is extraordinary: layered chitin armour plates covered in flowing spiral engravings give the figure an almost ceremonial quality, while the shredded cloth loincloth and fabric wrappings at the limbs hint at a warrior-monk tradition with deep cultural roots. Insectoid antennae curl from the horned, mask-like face — equal parts predatory and meditative. Every angle reveals something new, from the scaled back plating to the ornate wristguards, making this a genuine painting project as much as a gaming piece.
Whether fielded as a wandering martial artist from a far-off monastic order, an Underdark assassin trained in the ways of the blade, or an exotic mercenary with inhuman reflexes, this miniature brings immediate visual impact to any encounter.
A great choice for adventurers who:
- Need a four-armed, multi-weapon combatant that commands the table
- Are running encounters featuring exotic or insectoid humanoid cultures
- Want a monk-class character or NPC with a genuinely distinctive silhouette
- Are looking for a centrepiece painting project with intricate surface detail across chitin, cloth, and bladed weapons
- Collect display-quality miniatures beyond the standard fantasy archetypes
Encounter Hook: The party has tracked a series of assassinations across three cities to a single culprit — a monk of the Bladed Swarm order, a clandestine insectoid brotherhood operating from deep beneath the merchant quarter. They finally corner the assassin in a rooftop garden at midnight, only to watch four blades catch the moonlight as the monk turns to face them, utterly calm.
