Description

Somewhere beneath the artificer's workshop, a pressurised canister hisses and clicks — its articulated arms reaching outward as if searching for something not yet born.

  • ✔ Resin terrain piece, printed fresh to order in the UK
  • ✔ Supplied unpainted — primes and paints easily
  • ✔ Compatible with standard 28mm–32mm miniature scales
  • ✔ Works on the gaming table and as part of a display diorama

This steampunk incubator terrain piece is a striking addition to any artificer's lair, arcane laboratory, or clockwork dungeon. The sculpt features a tall cylindrical pressure vessel wrapped in segmented pipework and riveted bands, with two flexible mechanical arms extending from the top — each terminating in a serrated, claw-like emitter head. The base is wide and tiered, detailed with circular vent motifs, giving it a grounded, industrial weight. It reads equally well as a life-support device, a dangerous arcane experiment, or a sinister construct incubation unit — and your players will immediately want to know what's inside.

Whether you're running an Eberron campaign, a steampunk homebrew, or a Ravenloft arc with a mad-scientist twist, this piece adds genuine narrative texture to a scene. Place it in the corner of a laboratory encounter and watch your players argue about whether to smash it.

Perfect for adventurers who:

  • Run artificer lairs, arcane laboratories, or clockwork dungeon rooms
  • Want scatter terrain that sparks player curiosity and table conversation
  • Are building steampunk, Eberron, or sci-fantasy battle maps
  • Collect display pieces with strong visual character and fine mechanical detail

Encounter Hook:
The party enters the artificer's inner sanctum to find three incubators arranged in a triangle, each one thrumming with a different rhythm. A copper plaque on the central unit reads: "Subject Three — do not interrupt gestation cycle." One of the arms begins to move. Nobody touched it.

Scaled to 32mm. Arrives as a single piece attached to its detailed base — ready for priming and painting, or use straight from the box if you prefer an unpainted display. As with all hand-finished resin pieces, minor surface marks or support remnants may occasionally be present; these are easily tidied up before painting.
