Giant Ice Crab by La Louve 3D
Description
From the depths of a frozen cavern, where jagged crystals split the stone floor and something ancient stirs beneath — the Giant Ice Crab emerges, claws wide and hungry.
- ✔ 32mm scale resin miniature, printed fresh to order in the UK
- ✔ Supplied unpainted and ready to prime
- ✔ Compatible with D&D, Pathfinder, and all tabletop RPGs
- ✔ Equally at home on the gaming table or the display shelf
This is a creature built for the Underdark and the coldest, most inhospitable reaches of your campaign world. The sculpt captures the Giant Ice Crab mid-threat display: both massive, spine-studded claws raised high, its broad chitinous shell bristling with nodules, and two stalked eyes jutting upward with eerie calm. It looms from a base of shattered crystal formations, as though it has burst upward through the cavern floor itself — and that sense of eruption, of something too large to have been hidden, is what makes this piece so effective at the table.
Whether you're running a frozen dungeon crawl, an Underdark expedition, or a coastal cave encounter gone horribly wrong, this mini commands the room. It reads instantly as a boss-tier threat — the kind of creature that gets its own initiative card and makes your players suddenly very interested in the exit. Just as arresting on a display shelf, where the crystal base and layered texture reward close attention.
Well-suited for adventurers who:
- Run Underdark, arctic, or deep-sea themed D&D and TTRPG campaigns
- Want a large-scale beast encounter that doubles as a centrepiece mini
- Collect and paint creatures with strong texture and dramatic silhouettes
- Need a memorable boss monster that doesn't require explanation
Encounter Hook:
The party's map marks a shortcut through the Crystalmaw Caverns — three hours versus three days. They're halfway through when the floor shifts, and the stalactites above them turn out to be legs. The Giant Ice Crab hasn't eaten in a week. The party looks approximately meal-sized.
Details
Printed at 32mm scale. The model and its crystal formation base are supplied as separate pieces and can be joined with a small amount of glue — the base is designed to complement the sculpt, and the two work together as a cohesive composition. Supports are removed before dispatch; as with all resin printing, minor surface marks can occasionally occur and are straightforward to tidy up with a fine file or blade before priming.
